Roberto Landi, an Italian coach, has voiced his concerns about the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) regarding their apparent negligence and the disrespect shown to foreign coaches who have applied for the vacant Super Eagles managerial position.

Recently, the NFF announced German coach Bruno Labbadia as the new national team manager, despite not having a formal agreement in place. Reports also surfaced in the local media indicating that Herve Renard and Janne Andersson, both seen as strong candidates for the role, had opted not to pursue negotiations with the NFF. This situation seemingly led to the rushed announcement of Labbadia’s appointment.

However, Labbadia has since stepped away from the role due to contractual disagreements, leaving Nigeria to appoint Austin Eguavoen on a temporary basis for the upcoming international matches.

Landi emphasized that the federation could improve its approach to candidates to prevent misunderstandings. He urged the NFF to clarify its processes, listen to the needs of potential hires, and avoid making hasty decisions.
