Former President Obasanjo is urging President Tinubu to consider including students from private universities as recipients in the Student Loan Scheme that his government is introducing.

He expressed concerns about the likelihood of corru*pt*ion affecti*ng the implementation of the scheme, emphasizing that it is a separate issue altogether.

He said, “The Vice Chancellor has spoken about the need to include students in private universities as beneficiaries of the Student Loan Scheme. I urge the government to listen to that and take heed to include them too. I doubt if the scheme will be run without corru*pti*on, that is another matter entirely.”

  1. Let the implementation start first and watch out by monitoring the disbursement to students to avoid corruption and favouritism in the loan scheme.
Students of private universities are already caption once there are guidelines to follow.

  2. We will definitely get it right one day. Let’s keep trying.
Students loan is good but should not be placed in the hands of the elected politicians.

  3. So what about those in the federal and state university, sir we are suffering no adequate learning facilities
