Rapper 50 Cent is planning to withdraw the defamation lawsuit he initiated against his former partner, Daphne Joy.
The 49-year-old musician and actor has filed a request with the court to dismiss his lawsuit, as reported by TMZ on September 10.
Originally, 50 Cent filed the lawsuit in May after Joy, 37, accused him of sexual assault and physical abuse in a social media post.
These accusations arose after 50 Cent referred to Joy as a “sex worker” in March, following a lawsuit against rap mogul Diddy by a woman alleging sexual abuse, amidst numerous serious allegations against Diddy in recent months.
The judge overseeing the case will need to approve 50 Cent’s request to dismiss the lawsuit, but it is expected to be granted.
The “In Da Club” artist, who has a 12-year-old son named Sire with Joy, had taken legal action against her in response to her allegations, which also included claims about his role as a father.
